On August 6, EU Jacksonville along with sponsor Stay Tuned Studios presented the Jacksonville Music Video Revival at the 5 Points Theatre. The 12 original videos, made by local filmmakers and musicians, were shown to an enthusiastic audience.
With the volume of submissions that have come in, EU has decided to continue this event over the next year. The second round of local music videos will be shown on October 1 during First Fridays in Riverside at the 5 Points Theatre. The videos will be shown continuously between 5 pm – 8 pm. There is no admission charge.
Wednesday, October 6, during Downtown Art Walk, the Music Video Revival Rounds One and Two will be shown at the Snyder Memorial Church as part of Live! At Snyder, put on by the City of Jacksonville Special Events. EU will be at the Snyder from 6 pm – 9 pm along with information on exciting events coming up in Jacksonville and opportunities to win tickets to some great events.
The Music Video Revival will also be a part of the Jacksonville Film Festival taking place October 14-17. A Jacksonville Film Festival committee will select a Music Video Revival “Best of” from rounds one and two that will be shown on Friday, October 15 at 5 points Theatre at 6 pm. The Jacksonville Film Festival will then present the “EU Emerging Director Award,” followed by a screening of Feature Documentary Everyday Sunshine (about the band Fishbone) and Q&A with longtime Village Voice writer Greg Tate. For more information about the Film Festival see EU’s Jacksonville Film Festival section on pages 21-24 of this issue or visit www.jacksonvillefilmfestival.com.
Don’t miss this collaboration of Jacksonville musicians and film makers as their music videos are shown on the big screen.
