Since opening in February, the Lomax Lodge has already become a 5 Points favorite. Owned and operated by Ian Ranne and Marianne Purcell (who also run Shantytown Pub in Springfield), the bar/venue channels a hipster hunting lodge with mounted animal heads painted on the walls courtesy of artist Shaun Thurston. Live music and DJs can be seen on the stage in the back seven nights a week. Snacks such as cup of noodles, pickles, candy and pigs feet are available for purchase to keep you from drinking on an empty stomach. And speaking of drinking, Lomax Lodge has over 100 varieties of bottled beer and 12 on tap. You can also get a glass of wine or even an exotic soda if you’re so inclined. While they don’t have an official website, the Lodge’s Facebook page is regularly updated with nightly happenings and drink specials.
