Jaxstylefile: What inspires your style?
Kristi Howell: I sort of get inspiration from every where and every one. If I see something and like it… I develop my own interpretation of it and test it out. Sometimes, it’s a hit… sometimes, a miss. Honestly, I think that’s what fashion is all about.
JSF: Who’s your fashion icon?
KH: I could list a few well known favorites, but I wouldn’t consider them my icons. I don’t really have a “fashion icon.” I think some of the most fashionable people, are those who don’t necessarily know it or try… ignorantly original. Eventually, all us “fashionable” people will be wearing the same awkward pair of boots we were mocking a few years before.
JSF: If money were no object, what would you buy for your wardrobe?
KH: Hmmm… let’s see. If money wasn’t an issue… shamefully, I would buy whatever I wanted, when ever I wanted. If I loved it… I would just buy it. I wouldn’t obsess over it for months, pinch my pennies, and eventually, break down and buy it. It would just happen, right there and then. Awwww… that would be nice. HA HA. Although, in a real world, if you already had everything you wanted… You probably wouldn’t appreciate the things you have, quite as much.
JSF: Where do you shop?
KH: There’s nothing I love more than coming across a great find! I am definitely a garage sale, thrift store, girl. I enjoy hunting for little treasures. With that said, I do work at Anthropologie a few times a month so, my closet consists of quite a bit purchased at Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters. Anthropologie is one of my favorite stores, even if I didn’t work there. I love how interesting, eclectic, and natural everything is. Referring back to question #1 “what inspires your style”… I’ll say, Anthropologie is VERY inspiring.
JSF: What’s your go-to garment
KH: This is an easy one… CARDIGANS! I love cardigans! HA HA. You can just throw them on and it makes your outfit, in my opinion, a little cuter. Funny enough, I counted my cardigans the other day. Embarrassingly, I have a ridiculous amount of cardigans.

Jonathan Oliff: interesting use of color, classic style, clothes that fit
JSF: Who’s your fashion icon?
JO: James Bond, due in no small part to his automobiles
JSF: If money were no object, what would you buy for your wardrobe?
JO: a bespoke suit from one of the Savile Row tailors (requiring a trip to London)
JSF: Where do you shop?
JO: Charles Tyrwhitt, Cole Haan, J.Crew, Nike.com (have to have running apparel as well)
JSF: What’s your go-to garment?
JO: v-neck t-shirt, jeans

Carmen, a non-profit executive director
Jaxstylefile: What inspires your style?
Carmen Godwin: My mood really and what role I have to play on a given day
Jaxstylefile: Who is your fashion icon?
CG: I’ve always been a big fan of Audrey Hepburn’s classic style
JSF: If money were no object, what would you buy for your wardrobe?
CG: I’d have a milliner create no less than twenty colorful custom hats for me to don about town.
JSF: Where do you shop?
CG: I love a deal and I love vintage, so thrift shops and vintage clothing stores in 5 Points are my favorite places.
JSF: What’s your go-to garment?
CG: A great pair of heels or boots just make me feel good no matter what else I have on.
