The B-52?s, Feb 20th

Savannah, GA is known for a lot of good things- delicious food, ghosts in ancient graveyards and dying the river green every St Pat’s Day. They like to have fun in our neighboring Southern community and every year the focus of that fun is the annual Savannah Music Festival.
Now in its seventh year, the SMF will be held March 18- April 3. The 16 day festival features 96 different performers including Jax locals, Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi, Marcus Roberts, the DASOTA Jazz Band and the LaVilla Middle School Band will perform for free both on River Street on April 2 and again that evening at the Lucas Theatre.
Take the short two hour jaunt up I-95 to the Savannah Music Festival, Georgia’s largest musical arts festival and one of the most distinctive cross-genre music festivals in the world. Enjoy unique and imaginative productions and rare regional appearances by renowned artists in jazz, classical, blues, bluegrass, gospel and other styles of American and international roots music.
Just some of the artists performing this year include Pianist Lang Lang, Zydeco Dance Party: Jeffery Broussard and the Creole Cowboys, Patty Loveless, Kathy Mattea, Cherryholmes, Shannon Whitworth, Wilco, She & Him, Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, New Orleans Blues Party: Henry Butler and Friends, and The Del McCoury Band with Curtis Blackwell & the Dixie Bluegrass Boys.
It can be a great day-trip or a weekend getaway. Abundant accommodations are available right in downtown Savannah and award winning restaurants abound. Savannah, like St. Augustine is rich is history. Whereas St. Augustine highlights the original settlers, Savannah embraces a quaint Southern Americana charm.
