Enso performing at the Cummer

Doing things first is something Walt Disney always managed to accomplish and the magic started some 70 years ago with the first full-length animated motion picture, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It was also the first film to have a motion picture soundtrack. Now, the mouse folk have brought Snowy and her little friends out of the vault for a special 70th Anniversary Diamond Edition DVD.
Who can forget Dopey, Doc, Sneezy, Sleepy, Grumpy, Bashful and Happy with their playful ways and delightful tunes. The Magic Mirror does her guessing game and the poison apple sends SW to dreamland. Well, the story hasn’t really changed since 1939 and everyone still lives happily ever after.
What’s cool about this version is all the trick extras the geniuses at mouse central have included in the Diamond Series. Kids can make the Magic Mirror create a special personal message just for them and the Princess will call them on the telephone. Now that’s trick. You can also time travel back to Disney’s original Hyperion Studios where it all began. There are also the stand image puzzles and a neat trip to the Dwarf’s jewl mine to win treasure.
Whistle while you work…live happily ever after…sure beats the words we hear these days.

It’s A CHRISTMAS STORY time at Alhambra

For fans of the 1983 classic comedy film, A CHRISTMAS STORY, hopefully you already have your tickets for Alhambra’s production.  If not, the best you can do is their waiting list, since they are sold out! The show very closely follows the movie’s storyline of young Ralphie Parker (Keegan Carroll)

Overpass Protestors

Words by Ambar Ramirez & Carmen Macri If posters with phrases like “No On Four,” “Pro-Israel,” “Make America Great Again” or “TRUMP” seem familiar and bring vivid images to mind, you’ve probably driven past Emerson and University on I-95, where right-leaning protesters often gather on the infamous overpass.
