Seven local artists- Mallory McKendry, Kristi Stice, Arvid Smith, Shawn Lightfoot, Louie LeClaire, Amy Hendrickson & the Prime Directive and Longfellow Street- are featured on a new compilation CD dubbed the Cross Pollination Project. The CPP will be unveiled on October 1st with a show at Jack Rabbits. . Metalcore mainstays Evergreen Terrace released their 5th studio album, Almost Home, on September 25th. The band will celebrate the milestone with a show at Freebird Live on October 3rd with guests Casey Jones, Hello Danger and others. . Local Christian rockers Kaliyl are having a CD release show in honor of their new record What’s to Come on October 9th with Abandon the Search and For You and I at the Murray Hill Theatre. . Local punk legend Stevie Stiletto is the subject of a documentary to be screened at the Five Points Theatre on October 9th. In addition, Stiletto is hosting an all-day music festival and barbeque at Yesterday’s Social Club on the 10th. Live music begins at 2 pm and continues on into the night with performances by Puck, David Young, Grabbag, Chester the Malester & the Burnouts, Stiletto himself and many others. . Martin Atkins, drummer and session musician for such bands as Public Image Ltd., Ministry, Pigface and Killing Joke, will be hosting a seminar called Tour Smart at Edge 17 on October 17th. Atkins has been touring the country for several years, educating bands on having a successful touring experience. The lecture is bound to be extremely beneficial to locals looking to get their name out there. . Another chance for local pickers to get real biz advice happen at Tree Hill Amphitheatre Oct 23 & 24 with Nashville music producer Michael Knox. Progressive metal act Skyliner is releasing a new CD this month and is having a release show at the Murray Hill Theatre on October 23rd. Also performing are Sent by Ravens, Fighting Forward and Radiant 36. . Yet another metal band is having a CD release party this month. Lies of Autumn will show off their EP at Jack Rabbits on October 24th with Name:Bran and I Am God. . Also unveiling a new record on October 24th is Rapture Indeed. Their CD release party is at the Pit with Aglacia, Second Story Fall and Cities.
