Sept 2: Experience a Night of Independent Film
Two new films, both directed by local filmmaker J.L. Jarvis, will premiere in the new, state of the art student union theater on the UNF campus. The short documentary, WAITING FOR SAMUEL BECKETT, and the feature film, FOCAL POINT, utilized the talents of current and past UNF students as well as actors from the Jacksonville area. Both films will screen on the same night, beginning at 7:30 pm. Jarvis wanted to be sure that the UNF and Jacksonville communities would be the first to see this groundbreaking new film Focal Point. “This is truly a Jacksonville film, with scenes being shot everywhere from Five Points to Atlantic Beach, from Downtown to the Southside.” After the screening, director J.L. Jarvis will be on hand to answer any questions. Screenings are free and open to the public.
