Winter Haven, Florida’s Gram Parsons lived a short life, but a memorable one. At age 26, the country rock pioneer became a legend by bridging the gap between the two genres. Though none of his projects received commercial success in life, his work has inspired countless artists through the years and today he’s held up as one of the most revered musical minds of our generation.
On September 17, 18 and 19 the annual Gram Parsons Guitar Pull and Tribute Festival will take place at Okefenokee Fairgrounds. The three day event is now in its 12th year and will feature the musical talents of headliners Leon Russell, Charlie Louvin, Randall Bramblett, Tommy Talton, Ian Dunlop and Bloodkin, all of which name Parsons as one of their biggest influences. In addition to that brilliant bunch, dozens of other regional musicians will pay tribute as well.
