Opening Night VIP Reception
Where: Ivy Ultra Bar (open bar)
Cost: $40 includes opening night film
Celebrate with us, the Opening Night of the 7th annual Jacksonville Film Festival. This evening includes a VIP reception at The Ivy Ultra Lounge featuring the wonderful international delicacies of The Art Institute Of Jacksonville’s culinary team, complimentary cocktails courtesy of Jim Beam and Beam Global Products, beer courtesy of Bold City Brewery, and entrance to the Opening Night Ceremony and Florida premiere of LIKE DANDELION DUST starring Academy award winning actress, Mira Sorvino. The film will be presented around the corner at The Florida Theatre.

Local Motion
Where: 5 Points Theatre
Cost: Free for pass holders or with ticket stub from The Magistical or Hunger

With the homecoming of many Jacksonville film makers that have gone off to become forces in the industry, we welcome them home with The LOCAL Motion party, an evening bringing local film makers together to celebrate their success.

Screenwriting – From Page to Screen
9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
The ever so popular panel returns for another session. Guest screenwriters explore strategies for you to write the screenplay you envision, as well as explain the business side of screenwriting.

Independent Filmmaking from A-Z
featuring the cast and crew members of HUNGER
12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Join moderator Paul Cohen, Director of the Torchlight Program of Florida State University, College of Motion Picture, Television and Recording Art as we explore the journey of independent filmmaking. Learn every aspect of independent filmmaking from screenwriting, producing, casting and marketing of a film.
Join our special guests; the cast and crew of HUNGER, as we hear first hand their experience of what it took to make HUNGER.
The New World of Documentaries
3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Documentaries are one of the most important and popular genres of filmmaking. This year’s panel features visiting guest directors and producers of various International documentaries.

Saturday, May 16
The Jacksonville Film Festival International Gala
Where: Cuba Libre
Cost: $15 in advance / $20 at the door (includes two drink tickets)
9 p.m. – Midnight
Come celebrate the international films of this year’s festival at the newly remodeled Cuba Libre. Beverages to be provided by Bold City Brewery and Beam Global makers of Jim Beam, Vox Vodka, and Makers Mark to name a few.
