Gavin Degraw

Gavin DeGraw is fast becoming one of our generation’s premiere singer-songwriters. The talented Berklee College of Music alumni hit the big time back in 2003 when his tune ‘I Don’t Want to Be’ was chosen as the theme song for the CW drama One Tree Hill. The reaction to the song was swift and DeGraw soon found himself playing for Leno and Letterman and at sold out venues filled with rabid fans.
DeGraw’s self-titled second album, which was released earlier this year, shows that the musician will not be going through his career standing still. The new record has a rock edge to it that his debut did not and fans and critics both agree that it works. The album peaked at #7 on the Billboard 200 Album chart, selling 66,107 copies the first week.
Today his songs can be heard on the radio, in hip clothing stores and on TV, whether it’s on One Tree Hill or American Idol. But you can catch Gavin DeGraw live right here in Jacksonville this month. He’ll be performing at Freebrid Live on December 13th with special guest Shawn Fisher. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. For more information, call 246-BIRD.
