The indie faves deliver the goods at St. Augustine Amphitheatre

Longtime listeners and newbies alike crammed into the St. Augustine Amphitheater this past Friday night to revel in the indie sonorousness that characterizes Modest Mouse. The Northwest six-piece (which included former The Smiths guitarist, Johnny Marr) was on a roll, cranking out crowd pleasers such as “Float On” and “Lampshades On Fire,” deeper cuts from their catalog, and, towards the end, blew the performance out of the water when lead singer Isaac Brock picked up his banjo for a stab at “King Rat,” a personal favorite of this journalist-photographer. Though most fans, weirdly enough, shook with paranoia at the thought of posing for a photo to be Folio Weekly famous, a few did oblige.
