Jacksonville-based artist Jim Draper officially kicked-off his new series at the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens with a community reception Tuesday. The series entitled “Feast of Flowers”, features large paintings of floral landscapes and nature unique to Florida. Accompanying the paintings is a digital publication put together by a team of historians, artists, ecologists, writers and biologists. The collaborative effort provides insight into the interaction of Florida’s inhabitants with nature since Spanish Conquistador Ponde de Leon arrived 500 years ago.
