Jacksonville Caribbean Carnival
Bringing the Caribbean to Jacksonville
Jacksonville Caribbean Carnival brought music, dance, food, drinks and entertainment allowing people to gather at the Salaam Club on Sept. 14 from 1-9 p.m. Every month for 11 years Jacksonville Carnival organizes a parade with different themes. This month designer July Brackenridge selected the theme of an enchanted forest, specifically the birds and the bees. Costumes were designed for children and adults. Aside from a stage with live music, kiosks were set up selling Caribbean theme merchandise, jewelry, authentic foods, beverages and other promoters.
