Douglas Anderson School of the Arts hosted “Extravaganza 2013,” the Duval County high school’s 27th annual talent showcase, Feb. 16 at the Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts. The evening kicked off with a display gallery of student visual art and was followed in the Moran Theater with performances in instrumental music, voice, creative writing, dance, theater and more. Community and school leaders were in attendance, including Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown, Duval County Schools Superintendent Dr. Nikolai Vitti, former Jacksonville Jaguars owners Wayne and Delores Weaver, and others.
