Participants will:

" Gain a deeper understanding of emotional intelligence

" Understand how our culture and belief systems impact how we relate to each other

" Identify what is a meaningful relationship

" Identify their dominant style of communication and that of others

" Identify barriers to effectively creating positive relationships

" Identify the keys to effective listening

" Demonstrate effective listening skills

" Describe and demonstrate non-verbal communication cues

" Describe what is assertive communication

" Demonstrate assertive communication skills

" Learn five strategies to develop assertive communication skills

" Practice non-defensive communication
