Carl Safina, host of PBS's "Saving the Ocean," will be on the first coast speaking on "Caught in the Same Net: The Ocean and Us."
An acclaimed author and conservationist, Safina will share changes he's observed from the Arctic to the tropics. He will speak on our challenges for the future and the ways science and individuals can come together. Safina, author of six books, has been named one of the 100 Notable Conservationists of the 20th Century by Audubon, profiled in the N.Y. Times and Rolling Stone magazine, and appeared as a guest on Martha Stewart and the Colbert Report. He's also the recipient of a MacArthur "Genius" Prize. The UF Whitney Laboratory is pleased to bring him to our region.
