Brickbats to Mayor Alvin Brown and the Jacksonville City Council for allowing the Metropolitan Park noise issue to remain unresolved. Once again, residents across the river complained about loud, window-rattling music during the April 27-28 Welcome to Rockville music festival. They get all worked up about the problem, then — seemingly — let it slip back into oblivion until the next big concert. The city should invest in Metropolitan Park to reorient the stage, and find other ways to lessen the noise impact. And it should look into other venues, like the Cecil Commerce Center, where loud music wouldn’t cause a ruckus.
